From coast to coast and abroad, we develop Canada’s future leaders to be globally-minded and China-competent.

Applications are open year-round and are reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Canada China Forum is transitioning its membership entry process from a biannual recruitment campaign to a rolling application basis. Moving forward, prospective members may submit an application at any point during the year for Secretariat review and consideration. Upon submission and receipt of an application, prospective applicants can expect a one-month screening process. Please refer to the following timeline:

Recruitment and Selection

Timeline

Prospective candidates will participate in a thorough and comprehensive selection process, designed to identify the most promising young Canadians from around the world. Those selected for membership in the Forum will possess a record of achievement, be open-minded, and embody our core organizational values.

01. Online Application

Prospective applicants will complete the application form (available in both official languages), including the submission of a CV.

02. Provision of Supporting Documents

After completing the application form, applicants are required within one week of submission to provide a reference form OR reference letter to Membership Director Johnsen Romero (see below).

03. Application Review and Interviews

Applications are vetted by members of the Forum Secretariat team. Applicants who progress in the screening process will be contacted within two weeks of submission to schedule and participate in an interview-style ‘coffee chat’ with members of the Secretariat and broader Forum membership.

04. Final Selection

Successful applicants will be invited to join the Forum within three-four weeks, contingent on their acceptance of the Member Commitment Agreement and optional Media Waiver (found below).

Information Sessions

The Forum will periodically organize information sessions every year for prospective members to hear directly from the Secretariat and regular members. These one-hour sessions will be communicated in advance through the Forum’s social media channels.
