April 1, 2024 – The Canada China Forum is transitioning its membership process from a biannual recruitment campaign to a rolling application basis. Moving forward, prospective members may submit an application at any point during the year for review and consideration. Upon submission and receipt of an application, prospective applicants can expect a one-month screening process.

Prospective candidates can submit an application here (English/ French), and will participate in a thorough and comprehensive selection process, designed to identify the most promising young Canadians from around the world. Those selected for membership in the Forum will possess a record of achievement, be open-minded, and embody our core organizational values.

There are two tiers of membership in the Canada China Forum:

Forum Member: This is the default status of all members of the Canada China Forum. It entitles you to participation in our virtual member-only events, access to our network, access to our Slack, and benefits such as discounts on external services.

Chapter Member: Chapter Members will have a voice in shaping the chapter’s in-person activities according to their priorities and preferences. Chapter Members will build impactful relationships with one another through more regular in-person programming and develop leadership skills by planning and running local events. These benefits are in addition to those granted by the Forum Member status.

Members of the Canada China Forum gain access to:

Canada China Forum Initiatives – Participate in Forum initiatives to contribute to public policy discussion and actively work to inform the Canada China relationship. Our members are confronting some of the biggest challenges facing Canada.

Networking – The Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity to build lasting connections with like-minded members possessing diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

Exclusive Events – Convening members  from cities and universities across Canada, the Forum will establish dialogues on Canada and Canada-China relations specific to local interests and issues from Vancouver to Edmonton to Halifax.

Skill Development Opportunities – We provide a platform for our members to explore and publish original research and/or commentary across a variety of subject areas related to China and the Canada-China relationship. There is also a language learning group for members learning Mandarin.
